New Access Route At Needham Market Station

New Accessible Route Agreed

Liberal Democrats, Cllr. Mike Norris, Sylvia Watson and Wendy Marchant, were part of a successful campaign which met regularly over a 3 year period to improve access facilities for everyone using Needham Market Rail Station. Funding has now been agreed from Greater Anglia Rail, Suffolk County Council and a local charity.
When the work is complete, rail users will no longer have the current difficulties created by the steps at each end of the existing subway to the Ipswich bound platform. opposite. This will benefit everyone especially those with mobility problems, struggling with heavy suitcases or bags, pushing buggies, or bicycles etc
Here are Wendy, Mike, and Sylvia at the spot where access will broken through to create a slope instead of steps at Needham Market Railway Station.
